Shocking revelations in secret tapes about plans that might create a neo-fascist America... a mysterious assassination of a high government official by a hit man who is himself then killed… and then terrorists and police alike searching for the missing tapes as a high-level conspiracy unfurls in a political thriller with frightening implications. Jim Palent is just an ordinary criminal uninterested in politics, but his viewpoint changes dramatically when he unexpectedly comes into possession of tapes to be used in an expose´ book. His illusions are shattered, and then he and his girlfriend, Dawn, are thrust into great danger.
Jack Adler is a freelance writer based in Los Angeles. His published books in print include two novels, Parthian Retreat and Blackmail High, and five nonfiction books: There's A Bullet Hole In Your Window, Southern India, Exploring Historic California, Consumer's Guide To Travel, and Travel Safety (co-authored). The Library of Congress selected the latter book for translation into Braille. Two novels, Blind Gods and A Savage Duty, have been published in electronic format. As a playwright, Adler has had several one-act plays produced Off-Off Broadway, and one published. He has also received a grant as a playwright from the Yaddo Foundation. Adler teaches a travel writing course at UCLA Extension and nonfiction courses for Writer's Digest School. He was a columnist, on a freelance basis, for nearly 15 years with the Los Angeles Times' travel section. Adler and his wife, Barbro, have two sons.
